1. By when must affiliated institutions make decisions or initiate steps, and which ones?
Affiliated institutions were informed at the end of June 2026 and are asked to get in touch with the Sanela reference community regarding the connection of existing interfaces to another reference community.

2. How does the Sanela reference community support institutions in switching to another reference community?
As in the past, Sanela supports the switch to another reference community until December 31, 2026.
A guide is also available for all portal users. For questions or support needs, the Sanela reference community's service desk is happy to assist.

3. Which existing technical connections and access can continue to be used after a switch, and which need to be newly set up?
In principle, existing interfaces and access can continue to be used. All EPR-side interfaces are based on standardized IHE profiles and should be supported by other master communities. For binding information on supported connections and specific requirements, we recommend contacting the new reference community directly.
Please note that roles, permissions, and certificates cannot be transferred. These must be newly set up or assigned with the new reference community.

4. What concrete steps are expected of institutions in connection with contract termination and migration?
If an institution is planning to switch to another reference community and would like support connecting existing interfaces, the Sanela reference community is happy to help. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible so that the necessary technical and organizational work can be planned and carried out in good time.

5. Who bears the costs incurred as part of the migration?
The Sanela reference community will provide its contractually agreed services until the end of 2026 and will support healthcare institutions in switching to another reference community. Where integration effort is required on the part of professionals or healthcare institutions, these costs must be borne by the institutions themselves.

6. Which technical work does the Sanela reference community carry out itself, and which tasks remain with the institution, its system provider, or the potential target reference community?
The Sanela reference community provides advisory support to its customers on how to carry out a potential switch. All adjustments to customer-side systems must be implemented by the institutions themselves.

7. Does the termination of existing contracts happen "automatically," or do institutions need to take action themselves?
The affiliation agreements have been terminated in compliance with the notice periods and contractual terms. Institutions do not need to take any action.
